Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween Party

Hey guys hope everyone is doing well. As you see in the title I went to Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween Party! I wanted to share my thoughts with you guys as this is a little different than a Cedar Fair "Haunt" type event. If you have been to this, then you know what im talking about.

My wife and I have been wanting to visit this even for a few years now. Well we went. I want to let you guys know my thoughts why its still fresh in my mind.

Disney does this event called Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween Party every year on select nights. Its a separate ticketed event and its well worth it. If you have visited Disney in the last couple years you would know you use to have a reservation to visit a park, well you dont need that anymore. So on "party days' Magic Kingdom is open from 8am to 6pm. Which means less crowds during the day.

Let me tell you. Most things were a walk on or a little to no wait for some of the most popular rides and attractions. So around 4pm is when Magic Kingdom gets a little crazy. You have people that bought the party ticket coming in the park early and then the "normal crowd" trying to get those last rides before the park "closes" for the day.

Now in my mind im thinking, "how are they going to get the reg crowd out before the party starts at 7pm" Let me tell you what! In Disney fashion there is NO WAY you will be in this event without the wrist band they provide you. There are hundreds of Cast Members through out the park checking. My favorite is up by the castle there is a line of about 20 of them making sure people passing have them on. Now thats dedication!

How lets get into it. This event is not meant to be scary by what so ever. Its a fun family event thats intended as so. They have shows, characters dressed up in certain attire, certain rides have a Halloween overlay, and yes trick-or-treating! Tons and i mean TONS of candy.

They have the best parade. 2 parade times 8:15 pm and 11:15 pm. Both are crowded. The first one though is the best time to ride things as most the park guests are lined up. Disney's app is VERY and i mean very good at accurate wait times! So most people line up for the parade up to an hour or so earlier to get that good spot!

This parade is about 30 mins long and is full of characters dressed up in their Halloween attire. I highly recommend to not miss this parade at least one of the times as its a major highlight of this party. Great soundtrack and most of your well known characters are in this. If you have kids they will for sure love this!

Trick-or-treating. There are select ride locations and show building that they use for the trick-or-treating. When it is your turn to get candy they take one of those small hand shovels like you see in candy shops and fill it, using their hand to hold the candy on there, then dump it into your bag. This is really nice of them.

Shows, Disney has always had amazing shows. There are plenty here for you and your family to enjoy. You have the "Boo-To-You" parade, Disney's Not-So-Sooky Spectacular firework show, Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular and different smaller dance party's throughout the park within this event.

Disney's magic. If you have the photo pass with Disney, you know there are plenty of photo ops throughout the park. Add in the magic bands and its a seamless experience!

Food! There is plenty of Halloween themed foods, deserts and drinks. One of our favorites was a Mickey shaped cinnamon roll with a added Halloween touch!

Merchandise. Disney as some of the best park merchandise. Very heavily themed and has a huge variety of things for the whole family. Prices for things aren't too bad. Some are worst than the other. But they do have special merch for the party only!

Overall thoughts. This is a must do event if you are Disney fans. This even is very well put together. Its laid out very well and they have so much to do for the price you pay. I personally went on a night where it was $149/person. Some nights are more than other due to being closer to Halloween. If you can swing it do it! I really enjoyed this event and it was a good time! No complains from me! Until next time!
